Purchase Process

Eco terra Mattress

The Eco Terra mattress is only available for sale online. You won’t find it in a local brick-and-mortar store.

It is available on Amazon, but I recommend you buy it on Eco Terra’s official website instead. If you buy on Amazon, you may not get the 90-night trial period that comes with the mattress.

Go to their main shopping page and select your preferred comfort level and mattress size.

There are two comfort options: medium and medium-firm. If you are not sure which one to choose, just go with the medium. It’s the best one for most people. You can always return it if you don’t like how it feels.

If you prefer a firmer sleeping surface, go with the medium firm.

Next, pick the right size. There is a size guide that lists the exact dimensions of each mattress from twin to Cal King.

Add the mattress to cart and checkout using your credit card.

Third-party financing is also available through Klarna if you prefer spacing your payments over several months.

The mattress ships via UPS ground rolled up in an easy-to-open box.

There is no white glove delivery so be ready to set up the mattress yourself. It's not light, so make sure you have someone nearby who can help.

90-Night Trial

Eco terra Mattress

The trial period is a bit shorter compared to what other online mattress companies offer but still long enough for you to decide whether the mattress is right for you.

The company has a 30-day minimum usage requirement before initiating a return. If you return before the 30 days are over, you are charged a $99 return fee.

After 30 days, there is no return fee charged. The mattress will be picked up from your home for free and donated to charity or recycled. You’ll receive a full refund.

If you want to exchange a medium mattress for a medium-firm one or vice versa, talk to customer support.

15-Year Warranty

The mattress comes with a 15-year limited warranty.

It is non-prorated. In case of a claim, the company will cover all repair or replacement costs.

Shipping

The mattress is delivered free of charge everywhere in the United States.

Since each mattress is handcrafted on order, it may take a few days for it to get to you. But you’ll get a tracking number so you can keep an eye on the delivery.

There is no expedited shipping option.

Delivery and Setup

Ecoterra Mattress Review

Delivery is to your curb only. Beyond there, it’s up to you to get it inside the house and set it up.

This mattress is quite heavy  – the queen size weighs 100 lbs – so you will want to have someone around to help you carry it into the house.

Once it’s in the bedroom, just remove the packaging and unroll it on your foundation.

It’s ready to sleep on immediately.

Foundation & Frame

Ecoterra Mattress Review

What type of bed frame/support does Eco Terra require?

The Eco Terra mattress can be used on a slatted foundation, a flat platform or a box spring.

As long as it is sturdy and not worn out, any frame or foundation will do.

Does Eco Terra work on an adjustable bed?

Yes, it does.

Care and Cleaning

Is a mattress protector needed for Eco Terra?

No. It’s not necessary but is highly recommended to protect the cover from stains.

The cover is not removable so you cannot wash it. If it stains, spot clean using cold water and mild detergent and then leaves it to air dry.

Do you need to rotate the Eco terra mattress?

No, not necessary.

Aesthetics and Styling

Ecoterra Mattress Review

The Eco Terra mattress has a nice warm styling consisting of different shades of brown both at the top and on the sides. The top has tufting buttons.

It has a mattress height of 11”, so it doesn’t exactly make a statement in your bedroom.

But to be honest, that won’t matter much when you cover it up with bedding.

Construction

Ecoterra Mattress Review

The Eco Terra mattress has a simple 2-layer design of natural latex and springs with a total height of 11 inches. They work together to provide contouring, support and pressure relief.

Ecoterra Mattress Review

The main comfort layer at the top consists of 100% natural latex. It gives the mattress a soft but bouncy feel.It also has the excellent cooling capabilities that latex foam is known for.

Ecoterra Mattress Review

The main support layer consists of pocketed coils. The number of coils depends on the mattress size. Twin size has 682 while a queen size has 1,057 coils.

Each coil is encased in a fabric which helps dampen motion transfer. This is great if your partner keeps turning at night. It also enhances contouring.

Each coil reacts independently to the amount of pressure on it. This allows the mattress to contour to your body, providing support where necessary and pressure relief where you need it.

The coils provide edge-to-edge support, ensuring you are comfortable no matter where you sleep.

By allowing air to flow freely in and out of the mattress, the pocketed coils also keep excess heat and moisture away from the mattress.

Mattress Cover

Ecoterra Mattress Review

The cover is made from 100% organic cotton. It is stretched rather than woven to provide a snug and soft feel.

Being cotton is highly breathable which keeps the surface of the mattress cool, dry and fresh.

Smell/Off-gassing

The Eco Terra mattress contains natural latex foam. Unlike synthetic foam, natural latex does not get off the gas.

You won’t experience any chemical smells when you open the mattress. Instead, it produces a faint vanilla scent that’s pleasant to most people.

Sleeping Experience

Eco terra Mattress

Because of the latex foam, Eco Terra has a certain firmness that you don’t get with memory foam mattresses. The medium-firm option is soft but not plush. The firm option is even firmer with less sinkage.

If you are looking for a soft and plush sleeping experience, this is not the mattress for you.

On the upside, the combination of latex and springs makes it more responsive than even other latex foam mattresses. It’s a pleasure to sleep on, and you won’t have any trouble getting off it in the morning.

For couples looking for a great mattress for sex that has a nice bounce and keeps cools and fresh, I highly recommend Eco Terra.

Edge support would have been better if the mattress had a dedicated edge support system but the springs do a good enough job of holding up the edges.

Overall support is great even for heavier sleepers. You may sink in a bit too deep at first, but the mattress quickly bounces back and delivers the support you need.

↑ Table of Contents

Firmness

Ecoterra Mattress Review

Eco Terra is available in medium firm and firm comfort options.

The medium firm has an ILDof 24-26 while the firm has an ILD of 29-31. (ILD or Indentation Load Deflection is simply the measure of the firmness or softness of a mattress.)

On a scale of 1-10 with ten being very firm, the medium firm comes in at around 5.5-6 while the firm is around 6.5/10.

The medium firm is best for back, stomach, side, and combined sleepers. It’s also the ideal option for those with back problems. The firm is best for stomach and back sleepers who prefer sleeping ‘on’ rather than ‘in’ the mattress. I also recommend it for heavier individuals.

↑ Table of Contents

Sinkage

Eco terra Mattress

Sinkage will depend on the comfort level you opt for. The medium firm has more sinkage which increases with body weight. This is why it feels softer and better for pressure relief especially for those with back or joint pain.

The firm option has less sinkage. It provides better support and alignment for heavier sleepers as well as back and stomach sleepers.

In both comfort levels, there is increased sinkage around the edges.

Motion Transfer

Ecoterra Mattress Review

The combination of latex foam on top and pocketed coils helps reduce motion transfer even for the most fidgety of couples.

↑ Table of Contents

Hot/Cold Issues

This mattress remains cool through the night. The breathable organic cotton cover, natural latex foam and encased coils constantly push out excess body heat.

Because latex foam does not retain any heat like memory foam, the mattress may feel a bit cold when temperatures drop. If it affects you, consider buying a heating pad.

  1. I have been trying to find out more information about Eco Terra mattresses, Has anyone had any luck contacting their Customer Service line or getting a response back from their online form? I am wanting to find out what certifications their mattresses have – many online retailers have copies of their certifications available to view. Also I would like more information on how the company was founded or where they are headquartered. Interested in purchasing one of their mattresses, but wanting more information. Thanks much if anyone has info they can share 🙂
