In this review, we breakdown the construction and design of the Linenspa mattress. We also tell you how it feels, how much it costs, and where you can buy it.
Use this table of contents to skip to the features you care most about.
Linenspa was founded in 2003 to provide high-quality mattresses at affordable prices.
Today, Linenspa sells a wide range of bedding products, including several mattresses, toppers, and various sleep accessories.
Currently, Linenspa does not run any charitable programs, nor does it collaborate with any charity organizations.
You can order the mattress on Linenspa’s official website or Amazon. The warranty and return policy are similar on both platforms.
The mattress is available in all the standard sizes: Twin, Twin XL, Full, Queen, King, and California King.
Select your preferred size and check out. Linenspa comes in just one comfort level – medium-firm – so you don’t need to select a firmness option.
The Linenspa has lower than average prices, especially for a hybrid mattress. Here’s the current price list.
As expected for a mattress of this price, Linenspa does not offer any third party financing.
30-Day Home Trial
Linenspa offers a shorter trial period than is standard among online mattresses. Instead of the usual 100 days, you get 30 days to test the mattress at home.
That’s still enough time to determine if you want to keep the mattress.
Returns are easy and free. Once you contact the company, they’ll send you a pre-paid UPS shipping label.
Drop off the mattress at a local UPS, and you’ll receive a full refund when Linenspa receives your return.
Note that there’s no break-in period. You can return the mattress on the second day or the 30th day of the trial period.
Beyond the 30-day return period, you’ll be covered by a 10-year warranty. The warranty covers defects in material and workmanship.
It’ll not cover a change in mattress firmness or impressions less than 3/4″. It also doesn’t cover stains; damage sustained during transit (e.g., when moving to a new home) and damage from improper use or care.
Read the full warranty on the official website.
Linenspa offers two tiers of shipping.
Free shipping: Eligible for orders within the continental US. Your mattress will arrive in 5-7 days.
Flat rate shipping: This applies only to orders under $50, this does not include the mattress. Linenspa charges $9.95 per package.
Delivery and Setup
The Linenspa mattress is delivered compressed and rolled up in a compact box. This makes it easy to carry it inside and set it up on your bed.
Note that Linenspa does not offer an in-home setup service.
Once you’ve rolled out the mattress, it takes time for it to puff up to the full 10”. Give it a couple of hours to expand and off-gas.
Foundation and Frame
What type of bed frame/support does Linenspa Mattress require?
Any sturdy bed frame will do, including a box spring or bed platform.
Does Linenspa work on an adjustable bed?
Yes, it does.
Care and Cleaning
Is a mattress protector needed for Linenspa?
Yes, you’ll need a waterproof mattress protector since you cannot wash the mattress cover. And since stains can void the warranty, there’s a good reason to use a mattress protector.
Do you need to rotate the Linenspa mattress?
It’s a good idea to rotate the mattress every 3-6 months, especially if you have a significant weight difference with your partner.
Aesthetics and Styling
The Linenspa has a slim 10” profile. The overall styling is minimalist with a white cover and gray, white, and teal sides.
The 10” Linenspa hybrid mattress is made up of memory foam, polyfoam, and coils. Here’s the structure of the mattress.
1.5” quilted memory foam: The quilted memory foam cover gives the mattress a soft plush feel that provides instant pressure relief when you lie on the bed.
2.5” polyfoam: This is the main comfort layer. It provides deeper contouring and spinal alignment. It also absorbs motion, minimizing disturbances when your partner moves.
The transition felt pad: A thin pad of felt insulates you from the coils, ensuring they don’t dig into your body.
6” Tempered steel coils: These Bonnell-style springs provide deep compression support and ensure the mattress does not sag.
Linenspa does not specify what fabric they’ve used in the quilted cover, but it is likely polyester.
You should never remove the cover for washing. Only spot-clean it and let it dry at room temperature (never use a blow dryer to dry it).
Like all mattresses containing polyurethane foam, the Linenspa mattress gives off a mild smell when it is new.
The smell is barely noticeable and goes away in a few days. You can air it out in a well-ventilated room if you want the smell to dissipate faster.
The Linenspa mattress has a very high rating on Amazon (currently 4.4). That should tell you something about customers’ sleeping experience.
The most common feedback from customers is that the mattress is surprisingly comfortable for its price. It almost feels like a luxury pillow top mattress.
Most importantly, the mattress seems to hold up well over time. Most budget mattresses begin sagging after just a few months.
The combination of softer foam on top and the firm springs at the bottom provides a great balance of contouring and support.
You sink comfortably into the mattress, but not too far that it becomes difficult to turn and move.
Edge support is great, so couples won’t feel uncomfortable sleeping near the edge.
Another thing you’ll love about it is the responsiveness. Despite the plush feel, it responds quickly when you move thanks to the innersprings. This makes it a great choice for sex.
The only thing you may not like so much is the noise from the Bonnell springs makes. They are not as silent as pocket-coil springs.
Linenspa is a medium comfort mattress – around 5.5/10 on the firmness scale.
This is softer than most hybrid mattresses, which range between medium-firm and firm. The softer feel comes from the plush quilted memory foam cover and the polyfoam comfort layer.
The Linenspa mattress feels comfortable for most types of sleepers, including back, side, and some stomach sleepers (most stomach sleepers prefer a firmer mattress).
It’s also great for heavier sleepers. They may sink deeper into the top layers, but the innerspring core provides adequate compression support to prevent a ‘bottoming out’ sensation.
The Linenspa hybrid mattress has deeper than average sinkage compared to other hybrid mattresses.
But most sleepers love the deeper hug it provides. It feels more comfortable and provides excellent pressure relief around areas like the hips and shoulders.
Because of the mattress’s robust edge support, sinkage is uniform across the surface of the mattress.
The top foam layers do a great job absorbing disturbances from your partner. But you may still feel some of your partner’s movements.
The Bonnell springs are not as good as pocketed coils at limiting motion transfer.
Despite having a memory foam layer on top, the Linenspa mattress is temperature-neutral. It doesn’t get too hot or too cold.
The Bonnell springs provide good ventilation that carries excess heat away from the mattress.
If you are a hot sleeper or live in a hot climate, Linenspa’s hybrid mattress is a great choice.
