Summary
A budget 2-sided memory foam hybrid mattress with a medium feel on one side and a firm feel on the other.

Avoid if: You are a side sleeper shopping for a plush mattress. The Robin mattress only offers firm and medium options.
Price: $584.10 – $1,079.10
The Robin flippable mattress lets you adjust firmness simply by flipping the mattress over.
It’s a great choice if you are not sure how soft or firm you want your mattress to be. If one side doesn't feel comfortable, try the other side instead of returning the mattress.
A 2-sided mattress is also handy if you change your comfort preferences in the future.
For example, if you go from being a back sleeper to a stomach sleeper, you can flip from the medium to the firm side to get better support. Saves you the trouble of shopping for a new mattress.

About Nest Bedding
Nest Bedding is one of the best-known online mattress companies. It was actually one of the earliest companies to introduce the concept of a bed in a box.
They manufacture mattresses in the USA (in Arizona) and send them directly to customers.
Apart from a few showrooms in several states, Nest Bedding doesn't have a brick-and-mortar store. You can only order their mattresses online.
Social Impact
Since its launch, Nest Bedding has been committed to making the best quality mattresses possible.
Materials used in their mattresses have various quality certifications, guaranteeing that they are safe for sleepers as well as the environment.
Recently, Nest Bedding has introduced a comfort exchange program where you can exchange just one layer of your mattress to make it more comfortable and lengthen its lifespan.
This reduces the number of mattresses that end up in landfills because they are uncomfortable or old.
Currently, this option is not available with the Robin mattress. But you can enjoy it with the Nest Bedding Sparrow, Owl, and Finch mattresses.
Price
The Robin mattress is surprisingly affordable for a hybrid mattress. It costs about the same as a premium all-foam mattress.
If you look at the construction of the mattress (which we will shortly), the budget price is not so surprising.
The Robin mattress contains less comfort foam than other hybrid mattresses. It’s still comfortable, but not luxuriously comfortable.
If you are shopping for an affordable pocket coil hybrid mattress, the Nest Bedding Robin mattress is a good choice.
Here are the prices for the Robin mattress. Head over to the official Nest Bedding website for the most recent prices and discounts.

Purchase Process
You can order the Robin flippable hybrid mattress only from the Nest Bedding website. Nest Bedding mattresses are not available in physical stores or any major retail websites like Amazon.
On the Nest Bedding website, the ordering process is easy and quick. Just pick the size you want and check out.
Unlike other Nest Bedding mattresses that have firmness options, the Robin mattress is available in one medium/firm configuration. So you don't have to worry about which comfort level to pick. Both are offered in one mattress.
As you check out, there’s an option to apply for Affirm or Shop Pay financing, which allows you to pay for your new mattress in installments if you qualify.
Shipping & Delivery
The Robin mattress is made to order, so it takes 12-16 business days for it to ship after you place an order.
Once it ships, delivery takes 3-8 business days depending on your location.
Shipping is free within the contiguous United States. Additional shipping fees are charged for delivery to Alaska, Hawaii, and Canada.
The Robin mattress is shopped in a compact box, so you should be able to get it inside the house and set it up, though you’ll need an extra pair of hands to carry it.
Alternatively, contact Nest Bedding and ask if in-home delivery (white glove delivery) is available for your address.
Nest Bedding Robin Mattress Construction
Robin is a flippable hybrid mattress. The construction consists of foam and pocket coils, and both sides of the mattress are usable.
Here is the layout of the mattress from top to bottom.
1” quilted cover – medium side
The medium side of the mattress starts with a soft quilted cover. The breathable cover is quilted with soft polyfoam that provides a pillow top feel.
1” gel memory foam
To create the medium feel, the medium side uses gel memory foam in the comfort layer. It provides contouring and pressure relief, while the gel helps with cooling.
6” pocket coil core
A core of pocket coils provides support and structure to both sides of the mattress.
The coils also improve ventilation for better cooling and provide robust edge support so you can sleep anywhere on the mattress.
1” high-density foam
This is the comfort layer of the firm side. It’s made with a high-density polyfoam to provide a firmer, more supportive feel.
1” quilted cover – firm side
Firm-side sleepers also need pressure point relief. The soft quilted cover on the medium side continues on the firm side.
Manufacturing & Certifications
All the materials used in the Robin flippable mattress are manufactured in the United States. This includes the pocket coils and the foam.
The foams are CertiPUR-US certified, guaranteeing they are free of harmful chemicals and emissions.
Comfort & Firmness
How the Robin mattress feels depends on which side you sleep on.
The medium side is softer and has more give. This allows your body to sink more into the foam and provides better pressure point relief.
The medium side is the best one for most sleepers. It is especially suitable for back sleepers and combination sleepers who don't have a single sleeping position.
However, the medium side is not as soft as a memory foam mattress or a luxury hybrid mattress. That’s because there’s only 2” of comfort foam.
Some heavier sleepers may actually find the medium side too firm since you’ll sink more and feel the coil layer.
If you are looking for a plush or luxury mattress, the Robin mattress is not it.
The firm side has a more solid feel with minimal give. It provides great support for stomach sleepers.
Sleeping Experience
Here’s how we rank the Robin flippable mattress in several areas of sleep quality and overall comfort.
Support
Hybrid mattresses offer excellent support and the Nest Bedding Robin mattress is no exception.
The 6” core holds up your weight without bottoming out or sagging over time.
This support extends all the way to the edges of the mattress. The Robin mattress doesn't have a roll-off feeling when you sleep too close to the edge.
Pressure Relief
The Robin mattress has an average rating when it comes to pressure relief.
Yes, it contains memory foam on the medium side, but it’s only 1” thick. It doesn't hug your body the same way a thicker layer of memory foam does.
That’s why we don't recommend the Robin mattress for side sleepers and anyone looking for a plush mattress with deep pressure relief.
But for most back and stomach sleepers, the Robin mattress offers adequate pressure point relief. If you feel the medium size is a tad too firm for your liking, you can always add a mattress topper or pad.
Types of Sleepers
The Nest Bedding Robin mattress is most suitable for back, stomach, and combination sleepers.
Back and combination sleepers will love the medium feel of the mattress while back sleepers should try the firm side to get the support they need.
Heavier folks (230lbs+) who sleep on their back should probably get another hybrid mattress with a thicker comfort layer. You’ll find both the firm and medium sides too firm because of the thin layer of foam.
Ease of Flipping
The main downside of a 2-sided mattress is the tediousness of flipping it.
Being a hybrid mattress, Robin is not light. The queen size weighs 95lbs. You’ll need some help flipping it.
Responsiveness
The Nest Bedding Robin mattress has a good amount of bounce thanks to the pocket coil layer. That responsiveness is useful when you are getting out of bed, changing sleeping positions, or having sex.
Temperature Regulation
The Nest Bedding Robin mattress is a good pick for hot sleepers.
While it does contain foam, there are only two inches of it on each side of the mattress so it doesn't trap much heat.
On the medium side, the memory foam has a gel to absorb body heat.
The pocket coils also help keep the mattress cool by allowing airflow in and out of the mattress. This lets excess body heat dissipate away from the mattress.
Motion Transfer
The Robin mattress doesn't have a lot of foam to absorb disturbances when your partner moves. So you may experience some motion transfer.
If you or your partner is a light sleeper, we recommend getting an all-foam mattress instead.
Sex
The Robin mattress is great for sex.
It is bouncy (which helps a great deal with movement), it has excellent support including at the edges, and it has good airflow to keep everyone cool and sweat-free.
It’s also quiet. The coils don’t squeak.
Off-gassing
Nest Bedding lets their mattresses off the gas in the factory before they are packed for shipping.
So you should experience little to no smell when you unpack your new Robin mattress. If you do get the new-foam smell, let the mattress air in a well-ventilated room for a few hours and it’ll go away.
365-Night Trial
Nest Bedding has one of the most generous return policies in the market.
Starting from when the mattress is delivered to your home, you have 365 nights to get a feel of it and decide if you want to keep it or send it back.
The return option is available after at least 30 nights.
We recommend sleeping on both sides of the mattress to find the right one. If neither side pleases you, returns are free.
Lifetime Warranty
If you keep the mattress, it’ll be covered by a limited lifetime warranty. Here’s the warranty if you want to read the fine details.
Nest Bedding Robin Mattress Cleaning & Care
You cannot remove or wash the cover on the Robin mattress. Spot cleaning is the only way to clean off stains and dirt on the mattress.
A mattress protector is highly recommended, especially if you don't want to risk a return or warranty claim being rejected because of stains or moisture damage on the mattress.
Nest Bedding Robin Mattress Setup & Foundation
You can set up the Nest Bedding Robin mattress on any kind of foundation or base, including an adjustable base. Just make sure it is sturdy and offers adequate support.
Nest Bedding will reject a warranty claim if you’ve not been using a proper foundation.
Note: When setting up the Robin mattress, look for the firmness label on each side to tell which side is medium and which one is firm.
Robin Mattress Pros and Cons
Pros
- Two firmness options in one mattress.
- Excellent support.
- Budget price.
- Sleeps cool.
- 1-year trial and lifetime warranty.
Cons
- Difficult to flip the mattress.
- Not suitable for side sleepers.
Conclusion
The Nest Bedding Robin is not the most luxurious mattress you can get. But at that price and the 2-sided design, it’s a good deal for back and stomach sleepers shopping for a hybrid mattress.
