Construction

The PlushBeds Luxury Bliss is a hybrid mattress consisting of organic latex and pocket coils. If you want a mattress that’s just latex, get the PlushBeds Botanical Bliss.

Here are the different components of the Luxury Bliss mattress.

1” Cover

The Luxury Bliss mattress is wrapped in an organic cotton cover. It feels soft and has excellent breathability.

The soft cotton cover also does a great job absorbing moisture. If you sweat a lot at night, the cover keeps you dry.

Right under the cover is a thin layer of organic wool. This plays several roles.

One, it’s a natural fire barrier. The Luxury Bliss mattress doesn't contain chemical fire retardants.

Two, it adds a soft feel to the mattress that makes it more comfortable and luxurious.

Three, it provides all-season temperature control, keeping you cool when it’s hot and warming you up when it’s cold.

3” Natural Talalay Latex

The comfort layer in the Luxury Bliss mattress is made with Talalay latex. The use of Talalay latex instead of Dunlop is one reason the Luxury Bliss mattress feels so luxurious.

While Dunlop is firm and dense, Talalay latex is softer and springier.

The 3” layer relieves pressure on your shoulders, back, hips and other pressure points while also providing support and keeping your spine correctly aligned.

8” Coil Core

The base/core of the Luxury Bliss mattress consists of fabric-encased coils. These pocketed coils provide contouring, allowing the mattress to adapt to your body weight and sleeping position.

They also provide deep compression support, ensuring you don't sink in too deep no matter your weight. In fact, the ‘firm’ Luxury Bliss can support sleepers weighing over 275lbs.

Because these coils are not connected, they don't transfer motion across the mattress. This keeps couples from waking each other when they move.

Certifications

The Luxury Bliss mattress carries a bunch of certifications that further affirm its safety and eco-friendliness.

  • The organic latex is GOLS certified.
  • The organic cotton in the cover and the organic wool batting are GOTS certified.
  • The Luxury Bliss mattress is GreenGuard Gold certified. This certifies that the mattress does not have harmful chemical emissions (off-gassing).
  • Other certifications include Oeko-Tex Standard 100, eco-INSTITUT, Control Union and Forest Stewardship Council.

Firmness & Sleep Positions

plush beds mattress reviews

The PlushBeds Luxury Bliss is available in two firmness options: medium and medium-firm.

The medium option is the best for most types of sleepers. It uses an ILD 24 Talalay latex layer that balances between soft contouring and firm support.

The medium Luxury Bliss mattress is especially suitable for people weighing under 230lbs. Some back and stomach sleepers may, however, prefer the firmer feel of the medium-firm Luxury Bliss.

Sleepers weighing over 230lbs should definitely get the medium-firm option, regardless of sleeping position. The firmer ILD 36 latex layer offers better compression support and spinal alignment.

Note: Don’t be nervous about choosing the wrong firmness level. PlushBeds offers a Comfort Exchange Program that guarantees you won’t be stuck with a mattress you don't like. We explain more further below.

Comfort and Sleeping Experience

plush beds mattress review

Most sleepers rate the PlushBeds Luxury Bliss mattress highly in terms of comfort and overall sleeping experience.

It has great pressure relief and offers plenty of support in all sleeping positions and for all body weights.

Let’s take a look at some specific areas of sleeping experience and how the Luxury Bliss performs in each.

Pressure Relief

Because it uses Talalay latex, the Luxury Bliss mattress has better pressure relief than most latex mattresses (they use Dunlop latex).

Side sleepers and people weighing under 130lbs should get the medium comfort option to enjoy the best pressure relief. Back and stomach sleepers will find both the medium and medium-firm options to be pretty comfortable for their shoulders and lower back.

But if you weigh more than 230lbs, the medium-firm option provides just the right amount of firmness and pressure relief.

That said, some sleepers, particularly side sleepers weighing less than 230lbs, may not find either firmness level to be ideal.

If you prefer to sink into a soft mattress, get a memory foam mattress instead. It offers a deeper hug and can be more comfortable if you are a side sleeper with hip or shoulder pain.

Edge Support

Being a hybrid pocket coil mattress, the PlushBeds Luxury Bliss has higher than average edge support. The coil layer keeps the edge of the mattress from collapsing when you sit or sleep near the edge.

The robust edge support is especially great for couples. They can enjoy the entire surface area of the mattress without feeling like they’ll roll off the bed.

Cooling and Moisture Wicking

The Luxury Bliss also scores high when it comes to temperature control and moisture wicking.

Every single component of the Luxury Bliss mattress helps you sleep cool. This includes the breathable organic cotton and wool cover, the organic latex layer, and the ventilation-boosting pocket coils.

If you are a hot sleeper, the PlushBeds Luxury Bliss is an excellent choice. You likely won’t need an extra cooling aid such as a topper.

The cotton and wool materials are also great at wicking away moisture, a good thing for people with night sweats.

Responsiveness

If you like a bouncy mattress, the PlushBeds Luxury Bliss is right for you. The combination of naturally springy latex and coils makes for a responsive mattress.

Sex and Noise Level

The bounciness of the Luxury Bliss mattress is great for sex. The breathable and moisture-wicking materials also help keep everyone cool and sweat-free.

And since the Luxury Bliss has good edge support, you can take advantage of the entire mattress surface.

Despite having coils, the Luxury Bliss makes no noise. You don't have to worry about remaining discreet.

Motion Transfer

The individually encased coils reduce motion transfer significantly. But couples will still experience some disturbance when one person moves. But it’s usually not enough to wake you up.

If you are a light sleeper who wakes up at the tiniest of movements, a foam mattress is the best choice.

Shipping and Delivery

Free Delivery

PlushBeds ships the Luxury Bliss mattress free to all 48 contiguous states. They also ship to Hawaii and Alaska but at an extra fee.

Because mattresses are made-to-order, it takes 7-9 working days for the mattress to ship. Delivery time will depend on your location.

The mattress will be delivered to your front door. It’s up to you to take it inside and set it up. Currently, PlushBeds does not offer in-home delivery and setup (White Glove delivery).

Note: When unboxing the Luxury Bliss mattress, save the packaging materials as you’ll need them if you return the mattress.

100-night Trial and Comfort Exchange

plushbeds review

PlushBeds gives you two options if you don't like your new mattress.

The best and easiest one is the Comfort Exchange program. Here’s how it works.

If, after 30 nights of sleeping on the mattress, you still find it too firm or too soft, call PlushBeds customer support and request a comfort exchange.

After paying a refundable $99 deposit, PlushBeds will send you a new latex layer. When it arrives, unzip the mattress and switch the old layer for the new one. Send the old layer back to receive your deposit.

If you want a different mattress, the other option is to send the entire mattress back at your own cost. So, returns are technically not free.

If you don’t want the hassle of packaging the mattress and shipping it back, PlushBeds offers a mattress removal service for $149.

25-Year Warranty

25 Year Warranty

Your PlushBeds Luxury Bliss mattress is covered by a 25-year warranty. It’s a full warranty for the first 10 years, with PlushBeds covering all costs in case of repair or mattress replacement.

For the remaining 15 years, it offers a prorated warranty. You’ll pay handling costs in case of a repair or a percentage of the price of a new mattress in case of a replacement.

You can read the full warranty here.

Where to Buy

Other PlushBeds Mattresses

PlushBeds Botanical Bliss

This was the first PlushBeds mattress. The Botanical Bliss is all-latex and uses organic materials similar to the Luxury Bliss. These include organic cotton, organic wool and organic latex.

The all-latex construction makes the Botanical Bliss more expensive than the Luxury Bliss.

PlushBeds Natural Bliss

The Natural Bliss mattress is also all-latex, but it’s available in thinner and cheaper options. You can choose a 6”, 8” or 10” thickness.

Another big difference is that the Natural Bliss mattress is Vegan. It doesn't contain wool. Instead, it uses an Eco-friendly fire barrier made from plant fibers.

PlushBeds Eco Bliss

If you want the benefits of natural latex at a budget price point, get the PlushBeds Eco Bliss.

This latex and foam hybrid mattress combines natural Talalay latex with a base of CertiPUR-US certified polyfoam.

You can choose an 8”, 10” or 12” thickness.

PlushBeds Cool Bliss

Prefer the softer feel of memory foam? Get the PlushBeds Cool Bliss luxury memory foam mattress.

It combines gel memory foam with natural latex, so you get the best of both worlds.

PlushBeds Ocean Mist

If you want a less expensive all-foam mattress, get the PlushBeds Ocean Mist. It has a simpler 2-layer design with gel memory foam on top and a high-density foam base.

The Ocean Mist an excellent choice for side sleepers or others who want a deeper-hugging mattress.

Alternatives to Plushbeds

Avocado is another good brand similar to Plushbeds.  See our comparison of these two brands here.

Similar to PlushBeds, Avocado offers both an all-latex mattress as well as a latex and pocket coil luxury hybrid mattress.

Avocado has a longer 1-year trial with 100% free returns, meaning you don't have to ship the mattress back or pay a handling fee. Avocado's warranty is similar to PlushBeds, at 25 years.

Another good option is the Spindle latex mattress. It is all-latex but uses Dunlop latex.

What we like most about Spindle is how adjustable it is. By switching the latex layers around, you can adjust the feel of the mattress to your liking.

The sleep trial is 1 year long, and the warranty is 10 years long. Spindle also offers a 25-year comfort guarantee. During that period, you can order a new latex layer at a 30% discount to refresh the feel of your mattress.
