1. Leg and Head Lift with Zero Gravity
You can elevate the head of the adjustable base up to 65 degrees. At full elevation, you can comfortably sit on the bed and watch TV or work on your laptop.
The foot section of the Classic Brands base elevates to 50 degrees.
Like most adjustable bed bases, the Classic Brands base has a zero gravity position where the foot and head of the base lift to take the pressure off your back and boost blood circulation.
You can manually adjust the base to the zero gravity position or just press the ZG button on the remote control, and the base will automatically adjust to the most comfortable zero gravity position.
One thing we love about the Classic Brands adjustable base is how quiet the motors are. If you buy the split option, you can adjust your side of the bed without waking your partner.
2. Wireless Remote Control with Presets and Memory
The Classic Brands Adjustable base comes with an easy to use wireless remote control. The remote control is laid out in such a way that you only need to press a button once to get the feature or position you want. This makes it easy to use, especially when you are sleepy in bed.
There are preset buttons for multiple functions including;
- Zero gravity – press the ZG button to enjoy a pressure-relieving weightless feel.
- TV – the base adjusts into the best position for watching TV.
- Flat – the base returns to the normal flat position.
- Anti-snore – the head of the base elevates slightly to help you breathe easier and reduce snoring.
- Flashlight – lights up a flashlight at the back of the remote control.
- Head & foot – these two buttons activate the massage feature.
You'll also notice three buttons marked M1, M2, and M3. These are the memory buttons. You can program the remote control to remember your favorite positions.
If you love a certain position for working, another for reading and another for sleeping, you can save them using the memory buttons. Then when you want to adjust to that position, you simply press the memory button you saved it under.
The remote control is backlit, so you can use it in the dark.
3. Dual Massage
Dual head and foot massage can help you relax and fall asleep faster. You can set the vibration to one of three intensity levels.
There are also two massage timer buttons, one for 10 minutes and another for 20 minutes.
Note that the massage feature is more of a mild vibration. It'll help you relax, but don't expect it to help with an aching back or sore muscles.
4. USB Ports
If you use your phone or tablet in bed, a pair of built-in 1.5A USB ports provide a convenient way to power or charge your device.
Unfortunately, the USB ports are only on one side of the base, even if you order the split king. This is a problem for couples.
5. Adjustable Leg Height
When assembling the Classic Brands adjustable base, you can set the height of the base to be 5″, 7″ or 12″.
Remember to take into account the thickness of your mattress when choosing the best height for the base. If you have a 12″ mattress and choose a 12″ height, you'll be sleeping 24″ from the floor.
Choose a combined mattress and base height that'll make it easy to get in and out of bed.
We also recommend going a bit higher if you need storage space under the bed or don't want bedding touching the floor.
Construction & Design
The Classic Brands adjustable base is mostly metal. The frame is sturdy enough to hold up to 1,000lbs of evenly distributed weight.
The high weight capacity means to can use the adjustable base with any kind of mattress, including thick and heavy hybrid mattresses. It also provides plenty of support for heavier sleepers.
A retainer bar at the foot of the base keeps your mattress from sliding off when you adjust the base.
Similar to most adjustable bases, the Classic Brands base does not come with a headboard. But you can buy the headboard brackets separately for attaching a headboard.

The Classic Brands adjustable bed base is available on Amazon in five size options: Twin XL, Full, Queen, King, and Split King for couples.
You are not in luck if you have a Cal King mattress. Classic Brands does not sell a Cal King adjustable base.

Sleeping Experience and Customer Feedback
The Classic Brands adjustable base has a very high rating on Amazon, with most customers saying it was easy to assemble and works perfectly.
One common complaint is the lack of USB ports on both sides of the base. The massage feature also underwhelmed some customers. It's quieter than in most adjustable bases, but it's not very powerful.
Something else to note is that the Classic Brands adjustable base does not have a wall-hugging feature, where the base slides closer to the wall as the head elevates.
